Welcome to the underwater world!

After having completed my open water diver course on Elaidhoo (Maledives) in September 1992, I became more and more fascinated by the underwater world. On many dives in the following years, which took me to the Maledives, Bali, Thailand, Kenya, Egypt, Mexico, the Azores and Lanzarote, but also to the Mediterranean Sea (Malta, Gozo, Costa Brava, Cote d'Azur, Iles d'Hyeres, Ibiza), the North Sea (Holland) and the Baltic Sea (Denmark) and even some German lakes, I got to know it better and love it more.
For quite some time I had dreamed of capturing the nature under water on film. First attempts were made with a borrowed Sony DSC-P1 on the Maldives in October 2002. In March 2003, I bought my own digital camera (a Nikon D100) and a Sealux-housing and used it under water on Ko Lanta, Thailand, in the same month for the first time. In the meantime, I have completed my equipment, gained some more experience and taken many pictures throughout the whole world. You can select a location to view these pictures under pictures, or you may search the data base to be shown all the pictures matching your query.
Under equipment you will find a list of the equipment I am using. Every now and then I post a picture to competitions. In the competitions of DAN Europe and the German dive magazine "unterwasser" I was able reach the top ten several times. These and other pictures have been printed in different magazines. You will find the related articles in references.
Under downloads, you can get some of my pictures as free screensavers, and under ecards, you can choose from some of my pictures an send them as ecards (sorry, German only, but it is quite easy to understand though).
The dive centers I have visited are listed under links. I have been to many of these dive centers more than once, and the guides in these dive centers were always helpful in finding some rare species and taking pictures of them.
If you would like to make any comments, you are welcome to sign my guestbook. Email address and other contact information is found under contact.
